On behalf of our client we are seeking a Senior SQA Engineer to be responsible for validation of the quality, performance, resiliency, and security of our client’s cloud-based services, which enable customer experiences across their solution, mobile applications, and cloud partners such as music services, voice personal assistants, and integrators.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Duties include designing test strategies and frameworks for automation, and test planning, implementation, execution, and reporting. You will be required to create automation test frameworks execute test cases, and suggest future optimizations, perform exploratory testing in key features, and make enhancements to the existing test plans. As you work within feature development teams you will be expected to identify, document, create, and execute tests that verify the delivery of regression free, high quality software
  • Leverage significant automation test experience in large-scale distributed systems, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to partner with product development teams, system architects, and stakeholders across the business.
  • Hands-on involvement in all phases of product development, including planning, design, implementation, and execution of automated tests, defect logging and verification, and reporting results
  • Participate in problem diagnosis, triage and prioritization, qualification of fixes, and root cause analysis
  • Design and develop automation frameworks and test suites to test the Bose cloud platform and services
  • Develop test automation across many perspectives: functional correctness, code quality, large-scale loading, transaction rate, chaos, security, business continuity
  • Implement, track, and report key metrics to assure full coverage of functional and non-functional requirements
  • Consistently improve test automation infrastructure and coverage
  • Champion quality throughout the development process
  • Develop own test plans based on system requirements
  • Communicate with 3rd parties to execute certification
  • Execute existing test plans and capturing results
  • Perform manual day-to-day smoke testing, analyze the results, and work with the development teams to quickly target and fix build & test failures.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience with (but not all necessary):
    • developing or testing cloud-based microservices AWS, Azure, or similar platforms, Experience in software development,
    • designing, implementing, and executing automated tests,
    • testing interactivity of mobile applications (iOS and Android) controlling hardware products,
    • building automation utilizing modern cloud technologies and tool chains (VMs, Docker, AWS, etc.),
    • managing Jenkins and creating workflows/jobs for continuous integration testing and deployments inclusive of setting up automatic code pulls from git/svn, packaging it into containers, starting automated tests, and reporting results via dashboards,
    • testing Wifi standards (802.11x, WPA2, etc.) and Bluetooth on hardware and software products,
    • testing with the following cloud technologies: IoT, Cloud Watch, Kibana, etc.
    • Software Quality Assurance methodologies, with knowledge of both Agile techniques
    • API testing techniques, Understanding and use of APIs in large-scale distributed systems a plus
    • Postman and Putty is highly desirable
    • Using tools to troubleshoot networking issues (e.g., Wireshark)
  • Mastery of Python, Perl, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages
  • Knowledge of common networking protocols used in a home LAN environment (HTTP and Web-sockets)
  • Working on leading edge technologies in cloud micro-services, big data and IoT in a culture of excellence, diversity, respect, opportunity and passion for innovation
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to interface with product management, development, and customer support, ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical domain
